Since the very beginning of its activity, in 2005, SSCB has been inspected 4 times by Swissmedic, the Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products – the Swiss federal authority responsible for controlling drugs and therapeutic remedies.
The latest inspection was carried out on 22.01.2014. It covered laboratory procedures and those involving cord blood samples and, for the first time, also the laboratory procedures concerning the separation, characterisation and storage of mesenchymal stem cells derived from adipose tissue.
Following the inspection, the Federal Office of Public Health has certified that “Swiss Stem Cells Biotech SA has an adequate system of quality and safety for the processing and storage of stem cells from cord blood and adipose tissue
In addition to Swissmedic's inspections, voluntary membership of the FACT-NetCord Association involved a specific inspection conducted by 3 NetCord inspectors on 24 and 25 May 2012. As FACT-NetCord certification lasts for 3 years, a new inspection took place on 3 and 4 September 2015 and ended with the renewal of the accreditation for another 3 years.
